Awesome Seminar!!!!

Today I went to a seminar that Jasmine Star was giving at the PhotoExpo and It was one of the best seminars I ever been too.
She is so personable and has a great insight on branding your style and having fun with it. Her husband was with her and you can see the love and passion for each other and how well it works.
With all Jasmine's insight and guidance I look forward for the future I am making with my wife by side!

Get it...

There's nothing greater than capturing an image that speaks a thousand words. I captured this image at a Bat Mitzvah for a wonderful young lady named Claudia. As the afternoon progressed, more and more people want to capture the big event. So at every given photo opportunity Claudia's guests pulled out their Blackberry's, Motorola, Samsung and T-Mobile photo telephones and started snapping away. Many of these younger ladies were having a difficult time getting the right shot.
But try they did...
These young ladies got closer and snapped again...and again....and again.
And still did not get the picture that they wanted. The reason for this is because camera cell phones, although they are getting better in quality and features, a lot of camera phones are nothing more than a memory reminder rather than a quality picture that you will want to frame and put on your wall. The quality isn't always there but keep trying, if nothing else you would have enjoyed taking pictures. And you never know, you may capture something really artistic.

Powerful Batteries....

As photographers, we have come to know that we have to use batteries of some sort for cameras, light meters, flashes and just about anything electronic we can get our hands on. Regular alkaline batteries have been around forever. Then came Ni Cad (Nickle Cadmium) batteries. They lasted longer and were rechargeable. The big problem was that they were not able to last a long time but then came the NiMh (Nickle Metal Hydride) battery and now we were saved. A battery that could be recharged anytime and no worries about waiting for the battery to go dead first. And could be recharged 10x more than Ni Cd batteries.
As the years went by, the Nimh battery got better and better and more powerful.
Now, there is a new battery (actually, it came out in 12/2008,) the NiZn (Nickle Zinc) rechargeable battery. The manufacturer claims that the battery has a voltage output of 1.6v where the regular battery has an output of 1.5v. As I read from Strobist, the battery outputs out as much as 1.85v. Which will fry your camera or flash if it is not equipped with built in thermal scale, and that doesn't mean that it is 100% protected.
In my opinion these batteries are not to be used on older equipment! You shouldn't use them on new equipment! They are not to be used until manufactures make equipment to handle these batteries. But, if you can afford -or if your just a rebel- to try it on your equipment than please do, and let me know how you make out with it.

Happy New Year! 2010

2009 has been a great year and I am predicting that 2010 will be even better. Now, I know that many people have had an extremely tough year - my family and self included - But this past year, there have been great things that happened.
I got married, I went back to school and got my A.A.S and my mom's health is good. With all that said, 2010 is going to be a fabulous year. I wish everyone a happy and healthy new year.

Happy Holidays

Happy Holidays Everyone!
Christmas is here and we are about to celebrate a wonderful time with family and friends.
Remember to charge or buy new batteries for your digital cameras. And also it is EXTREMELY important that you empty or buy new digital cards. Nothing is more frustrating than trying to take pictures and your card is FULL. After taking pictures it is also important to back-up your pictures in your computer and also on CD/DVD.
Many of you already know all these things that I have just written, but I just wanted to remind everyone about these little simple steps to take so you can capture and cherish all the holiday moments forever.
I wish everyone a happy and safe holiday.
P.S. Don't forget your camera!

Awsome new App!

This is an awesome new App for the iphone. This App will do wonders for location shoots. This will help you keep track of how you had or will have the lighting set up for you to capture your best images.
You can get this App for FREE!
This App will give you 25+ different pieces of lighting equipment to choose from to help you design all kinds of lighting set-ups in the form of png's and you can also email the set-ups to other people. (Great for all the photographers at the location to know exactly what the light set-up is.)
Great App! Enjoy!
